One of Michael Luick-Thrams' favorite teachers at Ermysted's Grammar School in North Yorkshire (1981-82) was fond of saying "History is a seamless garment;" one of his Iowa State University professors (circa 1982-83) liked to quip "History is an endless river, but never the same river twice." Since his youth, Michael has been collecting individuals' narrative histories as "micro case studies" with which to illustrate "macro truths."
